GALENA, MD - Betty J. Woodall, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, in Chester River Manor, Chestertown, Md. She was 83. Ms. Woodall was born on Jan. 25, 1925, daughter of the late S. Richard Woodall Sr. and Mattie Phillips Woodall. She was a graduate of Goldey Beacom College and worked as a secretary for Hercules in Wilmington, Sassafras Boat Company in Georgetown, Md., and Harry Rudnick & Son in Galena, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Dennis Church, where she taught Sunday School, and choir. Betty enjoyed bowling. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Woodall. Betty is survived by six siblings, S. Richard Woodall and wife Doris, of Solomons, Md., Martha P. Woodall, Corrine W. Dill and husband Arthur, and Joseph Woodall and wife Mae, all of Galena, Md., Joan Woodall, of Newark, and Marie Signorino and husband Edward, of Ellicott City, Md.; sister-in-law, Lucie Woodall, of Townsend; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Dennis Catholic Church, 153 N. Main St., Galena. Burial in Galena Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to St. Dennis Church, P.O. Box 249, Galena, MD 21635.
