Betty J. Hartsock

MIDDLETOWN - Betty J. Hartsock, of Middletown, formerly of Dover, passed away on Dec. 5, 2017.
Betty was born in the beautiful mountains of Princeton, W.Va. She was a graduate of Spanishburg High School, class of 1951, where she excelled in academics and sports and was the captain of the basketball team.
Betty retired from PPG Industries in Cheswold. She was a member of Northeast Church of God and MOT Senior Center. Betty was an explorer of life she enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, sewing, bowling, farming, fishing, pitching horseshoes, and gardening. She was well known for her delectable baking and cooking skills.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, Clyde C. Hartsock; nine brothers and sisters; and grandchildren, Kimberly and James.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Ferguson and Pamela Mullin of Newark; son, Clyde J. Hartsock (Gayle) of Smyrna; grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, and Daniel; and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, John Bennett, Frank Bennett, and June Chernutan.
The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice and St. Francis Hospital for their kindness and attention.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark DE 19702. The Visitation hour will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial Service will immediately follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
