GENESEO, N.Y. - Bertha McCaughey, 96, of Geneseo, N.Y, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Kent General Hospital surrounded by her family. Bertha was a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a great-great-grandmother. Her Delaware family was blessed to have had her visiting with them since early June. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Fred McCaughey; a devoted son-in-law, Dick Utberg of Marydel; a granddaughter, Lori Utberg; a grandson, Rick Utberg; and a great-grandson, Brandon Deibel. Bertha is survived by a daughter, Lois Utberg; a granddaughter, Brenda Deibel; and a great- granddaughter, Brandee Deibel, all of Camden. She is also survived by a grandson, Ron Utberg of Bear; great-granddaughter, Kim Cole and her husband Mark; great-granddaughter, Chrissy Bartz and her husband JT; great-granddaughter, Courtney Utberg; great-grandson, Jeremy Clayton; and her three great-great-grandchildren, Peyton Cole, Caleb Cole, and Madelyn Bartz. She is also survived by a wonderful, loving and dedicated family in upstate New York, a daughter, Pat Waden and her husband Jim; a grandson, Eric Waden; a granddaughter, Kim Wigley and her husband Chris; and three great-grandsons, Andruw, Ryan, and Derrick Wigley, all of Livonia, N.Y. Visitation will be held at the Rector-Hicks Funeral Home, 111 Main St. in Geneseo on Friday Sept. 10, 2010 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 beginning at 10 a.m. Local arrangements by Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home , Greensboro, Md.
