Bermeda M. Benson, 63

SEAFORD - Bermeda M. Benson of Seaford passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007, in the University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore. She was 63.

She was born in Seaford on Dec. 5, 1943, to Earl W. and Ida M. Dickerson.

In 1962, she married William E. Benson and from this union were born six sons.

Mrs. Benson was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She worked as a cook most of her life, starting in her earlier years.

Mrs. Benson"s final place of employment was at the Seaford Health Care Center (Genesis) where she worked for more than 25 years until her disability,

Her hobbies were sewing, cooking, and collecting Teddy Bears.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Benson Sr.; her son, William E. Benson Jr.; a brother, Willis "Dickie" Dickerson; and a special nephew, David R. Benson Jr.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by five sons, Jonathan Benson and his wife, Anjee of Harrington, Michael Benson of Pa., James Benson of Wilmington, Mark Benson and Steven Benson, both of Seaford; three grandchildren, Erica, Ashley, and Meisha; three brothers, Phillip, Earl, and Alfred, all of Wilmington; three sisters, Victoria Spady and Gladys Benson, both of Wilmington and Wanda Dickerson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a devoted niece, Linda Fleming; an aunt, Mary McCray; an uncle, James Dickerson; and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the United Deliverance Bible Center, 532 W. Seventh St., Laurel, with a viewing from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

Interment will immediately follow at the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Ninth Street, Laurel.

Condolences may be sent to the Benson Family, 22291 Coverdale Road, Seaford, DE 19973.
