Benjamin S. Dickinson, 85

TOWNSEND - Benjamin S. Dickinson, formerly of Townsend, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, in Delaware City. He was 85.

Mr. Dickinson was a veteran of World War II and was retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542.

He is survived by his wife, Bettye J. Dickinson; a daughter, Donna Schneider of Tampa, Fla.; three sons, Benjamin S. Dickinson Jr. of Dover, Donald R. Dickinson of Frederica and James R. Dickinson of Camden; a stepdaughter, Patricia Collins of Wilmington; a stepson, Gary Jarrett of Wilmington; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be private.
