Beatrice "Bea" Oney, 71
Beatrice "Bea" Oney, of Woodside, DE, passed away on July 21, 2023.
She was born March 23, 1952 in Cheatum, TN to the late Noah and Ruth (Elam) Bennett.
Bea was a beloved member of the community known for her kindness and generosity. She was a tough lady but touched the lives of many with her warm smile, compassionate heart and sense of humor. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She served her country in the United States Air Force stationed at Dover Air Force Base and was employed with James T. Vaughn Correctional Center as a correctional officer for over 20 years, retiring in 2007.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Homer and their beloved dog Tiny.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company, 200 E. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Camden, DE 19934 or the Delaware Hospice at 1-855-DHI-GIVE.
