TOWNSEND - Beatrice Goldsborough Robinson passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on May 15, 2021.
A native Delawarean, Beatrice was born on May 29,1927 at home in Townsend. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Abbie (Jones) Goldsborough. She graduated from Middletown High School and then Wesley College in Dover. In 1950 she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Salisbury University in Maryland.
Beatrice was a school teacher in the Appoquinimink School District until retiring in 1987. She taught Language Arts at the Townsend School and Louis L. Redding Middle School in Middletown. She was Appoquinimink's Teacher of the Year in 1974. Beatrice was a dedicated teacher whose career spanned 37 years. She was devoted to her students. Teaching was her lifelong passion.
She loved spending time with her family and close friends. Her interests included cooking, gardening, walking, bicycling and ceramics. She loved to laugh, sing, play the piano/organ and was an accomplished accordionist. She cherished her summer vacations with family at Rehoboth Beach.
She was a lifelong member of Townsend Immanuel Methodist Church and Old Union Church.
Beatrice was pre-deceased by her parents, Elmer G. and Abbie F. (Jones) Goldsborough; her husband, Earl D. Robinson; son, David W. Robinson; sister, Janet V. Goldsborough; and brothers-in-law, Bob Parker and Charlie Robinson.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith R. Shachtman (Frank C. Greenwood) of Milton; sister, Louise G. Parker of Greenwood; daughter-in-law, Sharon L. Robinson of Hershey, PA; son-in-law, Doug Shachtman of Hockessin; sister-in-law Charlotte Robinson of Federica; granddaughters, Casey Robinson (Erick Perez) of Magnolia, Courtney R. Smith(Brent) of Atlanta, GA, Kelly R. Williams(Cameron) of Hershey, PA; grandsons; Colin I. Shachtman of Clearwater, FL, Robert G. Shachtman(Michelle) of Lafayette Hill, PA; great grandchildren; Joey Moreno, Melissa Maldonado, Bailey Andrade, Angela Andrade, Cristian Andrade, Kayla Andrade, Aiden Williams, Aubrey Williams, Olivia Shachtman, Ethan Shachtman, and seven great-great grandchildren.

Beatrice will be missed and her memories held close by all who loved her.
A funeral service will be held at the Townsend Immanuel United Methodist Church, 209 Main Street, Townsend, DE on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. Visitation for Family and Friends will begin at 10 am..
Burial will be private at the Townsend Cemetery.
