Bayard Earle Sweetman, 91
MILFORD - Bayard Earle Sweetman, age 91, died on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He lived in Clayton. Mr. Sweetman is the son of the late Bayard R. and Lillie May Sullivan Sweetman. He was born on Sept. 16, 1917, in Golts, Md. Mr. Sweetman worked for the state of Delaware in the research lab. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Allen Johnson, Carroll Johnson, William Johnson, George Sweetman, Rose Johnson, Elsie Buckingham, Etta Johnson, and Evelyn Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean Lawson Sweetman in May 2007. Survived by his two sons and two daughters-in-law, Gary and Beverly Sweetman of Smyrna, and Bayard D. and Sherry Sweetman of Rochester, Minn.; sisters, Ruth Frazier of Dover and Catherine Marvel of Camden; grandsons, Dwayne and his wife Elaine Sweetman of Charlottesville, Va., Mark and his wife Anna Sweetman of Dover, and Derek and his wife Sarah Sweetman of Centreville, Va.; granddaughter, Danika and her husband Mike Stagemeyer of Rochester, Minn.; and great-granddaughters, Miranda Sweetman, and Sofia Sweetman. Friends may call at 9:30 a.m., Thursday morning in the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus Street, Dover. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Ron Wuest officiating. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be given to the Delaware Hospice, 911 Lotus Plaza, Dover, DE 19901.
