Barbara Schlemm, 77

HARRINGTON - Barbara Schlemm of Harrington passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in her home. She was 77.

Mrs. Schlemm was born in Conway, Ark., daughter of the late Andrew and Christy Coker.

She was a homemaker who took care of her five children.

In her spare time, Mrs. Schlemm enjoyed sewing, shopping, yard work and attending to her flowers. She also enjoyed country and western music and singing along.

In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband.

Mrs. Schlemm will be remembered as a devoted and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who was easy to talk to and who loved to spoil her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Schlemm.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, M. Frank Schlemm of Harrington; three sons, Steven Schlemm of Menomonie, Wis., Tony Schlemm of Menomonie and Michael Schlemm of Milwaukee; a daughter, Sharon Altmeyer of Harrington; a brother, Winfred Strickland of Little Rock, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington.

Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
