Barbara Lewis Truitt, 87
LAUREL - Barbara Lewis Truitt passed away on January, 27, 2022 at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood, Delaware.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she is the daughter of the late Franklin and Martha Lewis. Barbara was retired as a Human Resource Manager with E.I. DuPont Company in Seaford. She was a member of St. Philips Episcopal Church in Laurel. She enjoyed gardening, belonging to the Orchid Club, playing the organ, listening to music, and she especially loved her cats.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Alfred "Tommy" Bowden and his wife Theresa, James Franklin Bowden, Robert Edwin Bowden and his wife Coralee, and Joseph Burton Bowden; daughters, Patti Key and her husband Gene, and Michelle B. Hall; brothers, Robert Howard Lewis, and Edwin Ralph Lewis; sisters, Virginia "Ginny" Lee Lewis, and Margaret Jean Lewis; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive her.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend George William Truitt.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on February 15, 2022 at St. Philips Episcopal Church, 600 S. Central Ave., Laurel, DE 19956. A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Father Jim Manion will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mark's Church Cemetery in Millsboro.
