SELBYVILLE - Barbara J. (Murphy) Vaughan, 66, of Selbyville, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was called to be with the Lord after a courageous year long battle from complications of a stroke. Born and raised in Sussex County, she was a graduate of Millsboro High School in 1969. She worked over 20 years for Super Fresh and resided in Selbyville. Barbara was a devout member of Blackwater Church, where she spent a lot of time listening to music, attending functions, dinners, and serving as attendance secretary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Elva Murphy; sister, Becky Hitchens; and husband, Lester, all of Millsboro. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Ray Vaughan; sons, James Taylor and wife Denise of Georgetown, Harry Taylor of Salisbury, Md., Dan Vaughan and wife Jane of Dagsboro, Allen Vaughan and wife Wil of Laurel, and Terry Johnson and husband Kenny of Laurel; grandchildren, Brandt, Jade, Kenseth, and Brianna Taylor, Jaxon, and Rachael Vaughan, and Emily Ransom; as well as great-grandchildren and a large extended family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Carey's Camp Cemetery in Millsboro.
