FELTON - Barbara J. Siers passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 after a long illness. She was born in Charleston, WV on April 5, 1948.
She grew up in Belle, WV. Graduated with BA degree from West Virginia State College. Moved to Delaware in 1987. She retired as a Health Educator for the Delaware Department of Health. She was an active member of the Church of the Holy Cross. She was a member of the Columbiettes.
She was full of life, fun to be with, compassionate, feisty. Dedicated to her family. Loved cooking. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. She loved to bake cookies and brownies for them. They also loved her pepperoni rolls.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hester Jarrett Ferris; sister, Katherine Ann Ferris; brothers, James Joseph and Thomas Lee Ferris.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Siers; her daughter, Jennifer McNamara and her husband, Shane of Glenview, IL; son, Adam Siers and his wife, Denise, of Scotch Plains, NJ; daughter, Kristin Kraiss and her husband, Jason, of Townsend, DE; seven grandchildren, Brayden and Makayla McNamara, Madison and Nathan Siers, Carter, Trevor and Kelsey Kraiss; brother, John Ferris of Oak Hill, WV, and William Ferris of Milton, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at The Church of The Holy Cross, 631 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 at The Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover, DE 19901. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to the Samaritans of Holy Cross, 631 S. State St. Dover, DE 19901. Condolences may be shared via www.ambruso.com.
