Barbara A. Delano

FELTON - Barbara A. Delano passed away Saturday, Apr. 15, 2017, at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.
Barbara was born on Sept. 25, 1934 in Lehighton, Pa., to the late Oscar Sauerman and Anna Dierkes Sauerman.
Her primary occupation was wife and mother. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Dover, and then Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Marydel. She helped her husband, Leslie Delano, run their automotive repair shop, Avenue Motors, which was located in downtown Dover. She also worked part-time for several years as an aide, at the Easter Seal Rehabilitation Center, in Dover. She liked reading, bowling, and crocheting, and she loved animals, especially her cats and dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Delano; and her brother, Paul Sauerman.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia A. Dobry, of Felton, and Catherine M. Kemp and husband Douglas, of Harrington; 2 sons, Michael J. Delano and wife Vivienne, of Hockessin, and Steven L. Delano and wife Lisa, of Gumboro; and 5 grandchildren, Barbara Marie Dobry, Douglas S. Kemp, Eric M. Delano, Rebecca Delano, and Sophia Delano.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, Apr. 22, 2017, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover.
Friends may call one hour prior.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
