Barbara A. Carey Downes, 61

MILLSBORO - Barbara A. Carey Downes, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. She was 61.

Ms. Downes was born Oct. 8, 1946, in Dover, to the late John W. Carey Jr. and Elizabeth M. Sipple Carey.

She was primarily a homemaker but had worked for the City Hall in Dover and also the Kent County Bookmobile.

Ms. Downes was a member of the Leipsic Ladies Auxiliary.

She enjoyed doing family genealogy, gardening and collecting, going shopping for antiques and Elvis. Her biggest love was being with her family.

Ms. Downes is survived by her three daughters, Kimberly Reinhart and her husband Richard of Milton, Kathy Walla and her husband Joel of Millsboro, and Karey Garrison of Springfield, Va.; her son, Kenneth Garrison of Smyrna; her brother, John W. Carey III of Leipsic; seven grandchildren; and two nieces.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St. Dover, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
