SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Audrey Marie Burris died on Sunday, Apr. 23, 2017, in her home.
Audrey M. Burris was born Jun. 12, 1932, in Sudlersville, Md., the daughter of the late William Mabrey, and Helen "Walls" Mabrey. Mrs. Burris attended, and walked every day to the Felton school house through the seventh grade. At the age of 18 she married George Edward Burris, Sr., and the two began their family shortly thereafter. Mrs. Burris had her first two children before going to work at Leeds Travelware where she worked as a suitcase liner for 28 years. Audrey enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, and writing letters. She was a very hard worker, and a continuous heartfelt caregiver to family and friends. Audrey was one who helped many people throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Burris, Sr.; her son, George Burris, Jr.; her granddaughter, Dawn Bilbrough; her sister, Maryanna Ridley; and her dearest aunt, Margaret Walls.
She is survived by her four children, Carolyn Klecan (Louis), of Felton, Gary Burris (Jennie), of Millington, Md., Rhonda Bilbrough (Lance Dean), of Chester, Md., Ronnie Burris, of Sudlersville, Md.; her special companion, James Norris Graham, of Sudlersville, Md.; her brother, John Mabrey, of Hartley; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and her close friend, Martha Dean, of Chester, Md.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Apr. 29, 2017, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Fellows Family Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, Md. Services will begin at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in Sudlersville Cemetery.
