Arvil L. Penix, 66

SMYRNA - Arvil L. Penix, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in his home. He was 66. He was born in Piney Flats, Tenn., the son of the late Ivan and Julia Dotson Penix. Mr. Penix moved to Delaware in the 1960's, and was employed as a carpenter for many years. He also retired from Letica Corporation, Middletown. His greatest love was fishing, and he also enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on cars. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle Klase; and a brother, Albert Dotson. He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Penix, of Seaford, and Richard Penix, of Smyrna; three daughters, Marie Slaughter, of Clayton, Sherry Collison, of Smyrna, and Michelle Spence, of Georgetown; a brother, Jay Dotson, of Grey Station, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Hopson, of Sulphur Springs, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Judy Barns, of Johnson City, Tenn.
