Arthur Ray Allen, Jr.
Arthur Ray Allen, Jr., was born in Philadelphia, PA, on October 4, 1941, and entered Heaven on April 2, 2022, following a valiant fight with illness.
Ray earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Phoenix in 1991. Ray spent his work life in the window covering industry and proudly worked for Kirsch in positions in sales and regional sales management. His employment took him to Virginia, Colorado, New Jersey, Texas, and finally to Delaware in 2000.
His favorite expression was "I'm a happy man," and that was shown in his optimistic and positive nature. He excelled at many things, and his retirement years were spent on the golf course and then in the card room, where he enjoyed bridge and gin with his group of friends. He will be missed so much by family and friends.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Ray Allen and Eleanor Pugh Allen; his younger son, David Henry Allen; and his sister.
Ray is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith Ann Allen; son, Robert Ray Allen (Tammy); daughter, Judith Diane Allen; 11 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 3 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE. Friends may visit one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Wounded Warrior Project; PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516
Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
