STILL POND, Md. - Arthur Franklin Leager, 53, of Still Pond, died Oct. 5, 2010, in Memorial Hospital, Easton, Md. Arthur was born on June 10, 1957, in Chestertown, son of George Roland Leager of Sudlersville, and Jean Ann Miller Leager of Still Pond. He worked as an independent truck driver for Rutkoske Brothers in Middletown, Del., TRP Trucking in Millington and was a mail carrier in Tampa, Fla. He loved farming. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rickey Leager. Along with his parents he is survived by two daughters, Katie Leager and her fiancée Harry Willis of Chestertown, and Sarah Baynard and her husband Bryan of Trappe; a son, Arthur Franklin 'Frank' Leager, Jr. of Chestertown; two sisters, Laura Jean Dove of Millington, and Patricia Savidge of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a brother, Steven Leager of Sudlersville; a grandson, Kenton Baynard; and a special friend Kippy Hladych of Tampa, Fla. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, Md., where friends may call after 1 p.m. Burial in Still Pond Cemetery. Memorials may be offered to Still Pond U.M. Church or the American Diabetes Assoc. c/o the funeral home. www.galenafuneralhomeofsls.com.
