Arthur F. Byrnes, 68

DOVER - Arthur F. Byrnes, of Dover, died on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 68 Born on Feb. 26, 1940, in Somerville, Mass., to the late Cornelius and Mildred Connors Byrnes. He severed in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Later after Vietnam he work for ILC. He worked for Hercules for over 20 years. He was Trainer/Cashier for the Valero Company in the Delaware area. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Dover and a member of the Camden-Wyoming VFW. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cornelius Byrnes; and a sister, Pat Silsby He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Menesy Byrnes of Dover; daughter, Terri Byrnes of Dover; sisters, Betty Byrnes of Stoneham, Mass., Mary Piasecki of Medford, Mass., Bridget D'Ambrosio of Stoneham, Mass.; and a nephew and his wife, William and Susan Carrow of Sportsylvania, Va. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, State St., Dover. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the American Heart Assoc. Walker Road, Dover. Letter of condolence may be sent to www.delmarvaobits.com or traderfh@aol.com.
