PAOLI, Pa. - Arthur E. Ellisen, III, 55, of Paoli, Pa., passed quietly on Sept. 13, 2010, with his wife and children present. He rejoiced in the continuing support of family, church, neighbors, and many professional, athletic, and social friends, so many of whom were supportive through these years coping with ALS. He graciously transitioned to roles less physical than running marathons as recently as December 2007. Arthur, born into a military family on Jan. 20, 1955, in El Paso, Texas, to Arthur R. Jr., of Smyrna, and the late Donna Mae Osmundson Ellisen, graduated from Holy Cross High School, Dover, Del., and the University of Delaware. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Debby of Paoli; son and daughter, Chandler and Emily, at home; father, Arthur of Smyrna; siblings and spouses, Kristen and Mark Hyde of Star, Idaho, Mitchell and Kari Ellisen of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Eric and Jane Ellisen of Ponte Beach, Fla., and Karla and Dave Turner of Tampa, Fla.; and nieces and nephews include, Dylan and Jake Hyde of Star, Idaho, Brandon and wife Jane Marie Ellisen of Greensboro, N.C., and Melissa Ellisen of Raleigh, N.C., Hannah and Louise Ellisen of Ponte Verda Beach, Fla., and Lexi and Callie Turner of Tampa, Fla. Services will be 10 a.m., Sept. 18, at Paoli Presbyterian Church, Paoli, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests support for hospice and the ALS Association.
