CLAYTON - Anne Ashby passed into the gates of Heaven on Tuesday night, Jan. 3, 2012, at the age of 89, following an extended illness. Anne was the daughter of Henry and Sarah Bush of Clayton. She will be reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents, and siblings, Dotty, Mildred and Buddy, as well as her husband, Stuart. Anne so fondly remembered her parent's farm off Leipsic Road, early morning milk deliveries, and riding her father's school bus to Smyrna High School. Anne also attended Goldey Beacom College and worked in downtown Wilmington until she married Stuart in the early 1950s. Anne was a very caring mother, devoted to her parents and family, and will always be remembered for her delicious family meals. She enjoyed feeding and bird watching in her backyard. Anne is survived by her daughter, Terri; two sons, Bruce and Garry; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Anne's husband, Stuart passed in 1996 and her caring sister, Betty, continues to reside in Dover. The family would especially like to thank Mildred and Bob for the enjoyment and comfort they provided to our Mother. In addition, we wish to thank the second floor staff at the Millcroft Senior Center in Newark for their very loving care. And lastly we thank members of the Bush family for continuing the tradition of family reunions. A private memorial service will be held for family and Bush reunion members as well as caretakers at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
