MILFORD - Annamaria Jester peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus while in the presence of her daughter.
The daughter of the late Robert W. and June E. (Short) Hassett, Annamaria was born on December 6, 1957 in Milford, Del.
She was a lifetime resident of Delaware. Where she found her love for nature, reading and helping others. She was involved with the Houston Vol. Fire Co. as an honorary member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed partaking in parade preparations from face painting to putting together floats, as well as organizing the fire prevention events. She enjoyed baking, especially homemade cookies with her grandson. Often in the summer you would find her and her grandson fishing. She loved traveling to Lancaster every year with her daughter. Most of all, she loved to take her only grandson to Slaughter Beach to collect seashells.
In addition to her parents; Annamaria was preceded in death by her brothers, George and Robert, Jr. Hassett.
She is survived by her daughter, Olivia Spring Caroline Jester; her grandson, Braxton Allen Carroll Luckett; her grand pup, Paisley Ray; her sisters, Barmeta Smith and June Bramble; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She will be missed by her family and many others who loved her.
A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, Del. Graveside services will be held the following day on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood, Del. In light of rising COVID cases, attendees are asked to wear masks.
In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to honor Annamaria is requested to make a contribution to her grandson, Braxton Luckett's college fund.
