Annabelle Lee King

LAUREL - Annabelle Lee King, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Del. Annabelle was born September 25, 1916, in Laurel, the daughter of George Elmer King and Flora Ellen (Carmean) King. She was employed as a seamstress at local garment factories in the Laurel/Seaford area. Annabelle was an active member of King's United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's group there. Annabelle also attended Providence United Methodist Church in Georgetown, with her niece and family. Annabelle lived a quiet life and enjoyed family outings and being around people whether young or old. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Thomas King; and sister-in-law, Ruth B. King. She is survived by her nieces, E. Kathy Smardon, of Jericho, Vt., Connie E. Mears, of Georgetown; nephew, E. Thomas King, of Laurel; three great-nephews; one great-niece; six great-great-nephews; and one great-great-niece. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at King's U.M. Church, Gordy Road, Laurel, where friends may call after noon. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Laurel, DE. Donations may be made to King's United Methodist Church c/o Karen Perry, 34591 Gordy Rd, Laurel, DE 19956.
