WYOMING, Del. - Anna Marie Austin passed away May 11, 2022 in her home west of Wyoming. She was born March 5, 1934 in her parents farmhouse west of Hartly, Del. to Herbert and Mary Churchman.
Marie's grandparents came thru Ellis Island from Germany and Bohemia. She attended Smyrna High School. She grew up on her parents poultry and truck crop farm east of Hartly, Del. Marie was very athletic and could run like a deer. She loved making quilts, and donated dog beds to the SPCA. She also knitted and donated infant hats to premies at Christiana Hospital. She was Married in 1951 to George H. Austin of Magnolia, Del. They were blessed with seven children: Bill of Hartly, Barbara of Hartly, David of Frederica, John of Priest River, Idaho, Joseph of Frederica, Jimmy of Dover, and Susan of Milford. All seven of her children own their own businesses. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Marie worked for JC Penney on Loockerman Street and at the Blue Hen Mall. The last 30 years of her life she enjoyed a distinguished caree in real estate and won several awards.
Services will be private.
