Anna Mae Taylor Werner

DOVER - Anna Mae Taylor Werner, formerly of Dover, and Saint Augustine, Fla., passed away at Chester County Hospital, West Chester, Pa., on Nov. 18, 2010. Anna was born on Jan. 13, 1921 in Collingdale, Pa., to Howard Clifford Taylor and Minnie Mae Bunting Taylor. She was raised in Rehoboth Beach. She graduated from Lewes High School and Peirce Business School in Philadelphia, Pa. One of her fondest memories was working for Curtis Publishing Company, publisher of the Saturday Evening Post, after graduation from Peirce. On Jan. 29, 1944 she married Eugene Packard (Red) Werner and shared 62 years of marriage until his passing on Oct. 23, 2006. Anna is survived by her children, Carol Weidman and her husband Verne, with whom she most recently resided in West Chester, Pa., Douglas Werner and his wife Kathleen; and her granddaughter, Joy, of Chula Vista, Calif. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 11, 2011, 11:30 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 501 S. State St., Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a favorite charity. Letters of condolence may be sent and the guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
