Anna 'Elizabeth' Layton, 98
GREENWOOD - Anna "Elizabeth" Layton, of Greenwood, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Wednesday, May 2, 2007, in the Milford Center, Genesis, Milford. She was 98.
Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of the late Harvey and Mary (Priestly) Warrington of Dublin Hill, Bridgeville.
At age 18, she married Paul Layton in Bridgeville and together they worked for Townsends at the Apple Tree Farm in Bridgeville for 60 years.
Elizabeth was a constant helpmate for her husband and a wonderful homemaker.
The family of Elizabeth would like to thank the nurses, doctors and friends who supported her with both physical and spiritual comfort at this difficult time. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her family and friends and those fortunate to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Paul Alfred Layton, who passed away in 1992; a son, Paul Layton Jr.; a grandson, Paul Stephen Layton; a grandson-in-law, Vaughn Dayton; and sisters, Helen Williamson and Myrtle Kimball.
She is survived by a daughter, Ann Elizabeth Layton of Greenwood; daughter-in-Law, Rita Layton of Seaford; three grandchildren, Terri Dayton of Seaford, Randy Layton and his wife, Christine of Bridgeville, Douglas Layton and his wife, Kim; five great-grandchildren, Paula Kellam of Virginia, Samantha Layton and Staci Layton of Laurel, Joshua Layton and Olivia Layton of Bridgeville; two great-great-grandchildren, Roland Kellam and Heaven Kellam of Virginia; sister-in-law, Hazel Beebe; and a brother-in-law, Francis Layton, both of Seaford; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Bridgeville Cemetery with the Rev. James C. Bongard officiating.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
