FELTON - Anna D. Tharp passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital. She was born in Milford, and is the daughter of Lee Jackson and the late, Roseann Jackson.
Anna was a Lake Forest High graduate, and worked as a produce clerk for Acme Market of Dover for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, taking Sunday strolls throughout the countryside, and playing bingo. She loved movies and was quite the movie buff. Anna was also a prolific reader and a writer, including many published poems, and always carried her Kindle to read everywhere she went.
Anna loved her family tremendously. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She made sure everyone else was taken care of before she worried about herself. She was wise and always fought for her family and was always the peace keeper. She had an infectious laugh which will be missed the most by all that knew her. Her sense of humor was second to none. Her presence will always be felt by her family and close friends and she will be forever missed.
Anna was a member of the Milford Church of the Nazarene, and a member of the Bowers Fire Company, where she started out as a junior fire fighter in her teens, and was also a member of the auxiliary.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, Christopher A. Tharp; daughters, Jessica and Melissa Tharp; and five grandchildren, Paul, AJ, Nate, Lorren, and Delillah.
A memorial service will take place at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 11 a.m., with a gathering one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are by the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Inc., Harrington. Visit us at www.melvinfuneralhome.com to send flowers or sign condolence book.
