DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. - Ann Patricia Parker Panzetta passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2018 surrounded by her family at LifeCare Hospital of Chester County. Born on May 11, 1934 in Haywards Heath, Sussex, England to the late Cyril Parker and Annie Mary Igglesden. Ann, known as "Paddy", graduated from St. Joseph's Convent, Miller General Hospital Preliminary Training School in Greenwich, London and The Nursing School of Wilmington.
Paddy was Mummy and Nana to her family; but to the many who were blessed to know her saw her as a nurturing caregiver, a devoted friend, and a skilled nurse, especially to the hospice families that she supported. Paddy continuously gave back to the community, and encouraged young girls and women to achieve their dreams, highlighted by both her involvement as a troop leader for the Brownies, and then Girl Scouts at Shipley Elementary School and then with her deep commitment to Nursing Mothers.
A person of deep faith since childhood, Paddy served on the vestry and was Director of the Altar Guild at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Georgetown, Del. and St. James' Episcopal Church, Downingtown, Pa.
Most of all, Paddy loved to be with her family, whether it was on the ski slopes, playing tennis, tending to her magnificent garden, or cooking a gourmet meal, she was always there to listen, to give advice, but only when asked for, and to give a hug that made you feel like all your problems would melt away.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Nicholas J. Panzetta in 1980; and sister, Leslie Joyce in 1938.
Survived by daughters, NancyAnn Greenberg (Marc), Nicole Dara Thompson (John), Nina Panzetta (Geoff) with whom she lived; grandchildren, Sam, Harry and Benjamin Greenberg, Abbey, Nicholas and Parker Thompson and Rebecca and Oliver Dixon; sisters, Diana Bradshaw and Geraldine Flesher; cousin, Sue Dunbar; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, Feb 24, 2018 at 11 a.m., Saint James' Episcopal Church, 409 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Burial will be private.
