Anita Louise 'Neat' Brittingham, 65
FRANKFORD - Anita Louise "Neat" Brittingham of Frankford died, after a short illness, Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, in her home. She was 65.
Mrs. Brittingham was born in Frankford, daughter of the late David and Radie (Jarmon) Bethards.
She was a social worker and worked with the First State Community Action Program in Georgetown.
She loved her family and her church family, and loved to hold family dinners, especially her Christmas Eve gathering. She loved to cook, to go camping and to decorate a Christmas tree.
Mrs. Brittingham was a member of Antioch A.M.E. Church, Frankford, and over the years, served as a member of the adult choir, on the board of Christian education and as a steward of the church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Robert Sturgis, in 2005; and a grandchild, Denny Robert.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Sylvester T. Brittingham; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lenny S. Brittingham of Georgetown, Denny T. and Robbin Brittingham of Bowie, Md., and Tawny L. and Trevino Brittingham of Seaford; a stepson and a stepdaughter-in-law, Anthony Wayne Smith and Teresa Smith of Killeen, Texas; a brother, Gary Bethards of Harrington; a sister and a brother-in-law, Marie and Frederick Poole of Frankford; and five grandchildren, Michael, Keara, Zakiyyah, Mya and Dominique.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Antioch A.M.E. Church, Frankford.
Services will be noon Wednesday in the church, where friends also may call one hour earlier. The Rev. Harvey B. Sparkman III will officiate.
Burial will be in Antioch A.M.E. Church Cemetery, Frankford.
