Angelena C. 'Angie' Conaway, 76
Angelena C. "Angie" Conaway of Georgetown passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, in her home. She was 76.
Angie had been co-owner of Alvin & Angie's Florist, starting in 1970.
She loved gardening, cooking and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Dagsboro Church of God, holding many positions including church treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and Fourth of July food coordinator.
Angie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who made a house a home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayward T. and Meredith (Dukes) Whaley.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alvin Conaway; a son and a daughter-in-law, Kenny and Peggy Conaway of Georgetown; a daughter, Diane Rogers of Georgetown; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Roland and Mildred Whaley and James and Joyce Whaley, all of Laurel; a sister, Nora Lee and Carl Mahr of Arnold, Md.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be noon Tuesday in Dagsboro Church of God, where friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon.
The Revs. Kim Tephabock, Don Syvertsen and K.C. Conaway, and Pastors Chuck Reynolds and Perry Mears will all officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Dagsboro Church of God, Soup Kitchen Project, 32224 DuPont Blvd., Dagsboro, DE 19939.
