Andrew John Biddle, 35
WILMINGTON - Andrew John Biddle of Wilmington passed away peacefully, after fighting a strong and courageous lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis, Monday, June 25, 2007, in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He was 35 and had enjoyed his last 13 years as the result of a double lung transplant.
Mr. Biddle was born Nov. 5, 1971, in Wilmington.
He was proud to be a 1990 graduate of Wilmington Friends School. He attended the University of Delaware and also obtained his Emergency Medical Technician certification.
He recently had been employed with J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, where he worked for 10 years in the credit card-marketing department.
Mr. Biddle was an avid Phillies fan and enjoyed waterfowl hunting, golf and following the Formula 1 racing series. He will be forever remembered for his inspirational courage, tenderness, strength, humility, amazing sense of humor and positive outlook on life despite great adversities.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bonnie and Clifford Hearn of Middletown; a brother and a sister-in-law, David and Valerie Biddle of Middletown; two nephews, David Biddle Jr. and Samuel Biddle, both of Middletown; his father, Lawrence J. Biddle of St. Petersburg, Fla.; an uncle, David Brannan of Chesapeake City, Md.; a girlfriend, Anne Gromadzki of Wilmington; paternal grandparents, Millard and Hattye Mae Biddle of Dover; an aunt, Connie Biddle of Dover; an additional aunt and uncle, Nancy Jo and Albert Lambertson of Dover; and many cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Old St. Anne"s Church, 105 Old Saint Anne"s Church Road, Middletown.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Wilmington Friends School, Andrew J. Biddle Financial Aid Fund, 101 School Road, Wilmington, DE 19803.
