MILTON - Amy A. Quillen, of Milton, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009, at her daughter's home in Georgetown, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84. Amy was born in Fitchburg, Mass., daughter of the late Raymond and Amy (Johnston) Johnson. She was a Unit Secretary with Beebe Medical Center in Lewes for many years, retiring in 1988. Amy enjoyed reading and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. In addition to her parents, her husband, Charles E. Quillen, also preceded her in death. She is survived by eight children, Pat Quillen and wife Margaret, Lincoln, Charles Quillen, San Diego, Calif., Steven Quillen and wife Melanie, also of San Diego, Kevin Quillen and wife Judy, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Ellen Mast and husband Maylon, Greenwood, Irene Bradford and husband Ted, Greenville, S.C., Kathleen Engel and husband Thomas, Lewes and Connie Hearn, Georgetown; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 3, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Flowers are accepted or contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
