MILFORD - Almarie Parson Blanchard, of Milford, departed this life Sunday, March 16, 2008, in the comfort of her home. She was 59.

Daughter of the late Arthur James and Mary Lee Parson, she was born April 30, 1948, in Quitman, Ga.

In her 20s, Almarie moved to Delaware with her siblings. In Delaware, she worked at Doxsee Food Corp. and Lewes Convalescent Center, until her health started to affect her life.

As an active member of Friendship Baptist Church, she sang with the senior choir.

Almarie was also a member of the Janie F. Smith Missionary Society until her health failed.

She enjoyed music, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren, who all called her "Granny."

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Pierre Blanchard in March 1984.

She is survived by her husband, Pierre Blanchard of Naples, Fla.; three children, Seandra Parson and Calandra Parson, both of Milford, and Brock Parson of Rehoboth Beach; one daughter-in-law, Tonesha Murray Parson of Rehoboth Beach; five sisters, Gertrude Peterson, Vera Turner, Dorothy Parson, Beatrice Thomas and Emma Jean Griffin; three brothers, Bishop Woodrow Parson, Freddie Parson and James Parson; two brothers-in-law, James Thomas and Willie Griffin; two sisters-in-law, Mary Parson and Janice Parson; six grandchildren, Daquan Whaley, Nazmere Parson, Markell Parson, Isaiah Parson, Jayda Parson and Cameron Parson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church, Lewes, where friends may also call two hours prior to the service.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Milford.
