Allen Arthur Baker

FREDERICA - Allen Arthur Baker, 75, of Frederica, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at Milford Memorial Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center. Mr. Baker was born in Harrington, the son of the late Arthur and Irene (Pearson) Baker. He worked at Chrysler in Newark for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Frederica Senior Center and loved to travel. He also raised dogs for years, at one time boarding up to 40 of them. He loved to run his dogs in the fields looking for fox and other prey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Baker in 2007; and a sister, Ginger Baker. He is survived by his son, Michael Allen Baker, of Frederica; his daughter, Gina Michelle Carey and her husband Richard, of Hazelton, W.Va.; his sister, Phyllis Trice, of Denton, Md.; two granddaughters, Abigail and Bobbie; and his dear Lady Friend, Mae Maloney, of Lincoln. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford - Harrington Highway, Harrington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Frederica Senior Center, P.O. Box 165, Frederica, DE 19946. Letters of condolence may be sent to www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
