Allan S. Leager

KENNEDYVILLE, Md. - Allan S. Leager passed away on Feb. 22, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Leager was born on Nov. 18, 1944, son of the late Seaford Leager, Jr. and Gladys Miller Leager. He was raised in Locust Grove and was a 1963 graduate of Galena High School. He had lived in Galena before moving to Kennedyville in 1973 where he and his wife, Kathy operated a dairy and grain farm, 'Leagervue'. He also operated hunting services Leagervue Waterfowling in Kennedyville and Southern Iowa Outfitters in Iowa. He had coached Little League in Kennedyville and was in the National Guard for four years. Allan was a member of Kennedyville Southern States Co-op and Kent County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed farming, hunting, playing softball, bowling and cards.
Allan is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy Starkey Leager; sons, Brian Leager (Jill), Craig Leager (Leslie) and Mark Leager (Tonya) all of Iowa and Peter Leager (Shenna) of Galena; brother, David Leager of Galena; sister, Carolyn Thompson of Wyoming; eight grandchildren, Alicin, Stephanie, Carter, Jackson, Jasmine, Gavyn, Kaitlyn and Emily.
A viewing will be held on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md., where funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Shrewsbury Cemetery.
Memorials may be offered to Kennedyville United Methodist Church, PO Box 32, Kennedyville, MD 21645.
