Johnson, Sr., 85 SEAFORD - Allan Martin Johnson, Sr., of Seaford, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. He was 85 years old. Born in Long Branch, N.J., he was the son of Sarah Reid and Harvey Johnson. As a young man, he drove race cars on dirt tracks. While living in New Jersey, he owned an auto body shop and was a volunteer firefighter in Oceanport. He was also a member of Long Branch Ice Boat and Yacht Club. Before retiring, Allan was an insurance adjuster for Allstate. He was a member of Seaford Presbyterian Church, Seaford Elks Lodge and Nanticoke River Yacht Club. Married to his lovely bride Jean for sixty-six years, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harvey L. Johnson; a sister, Janet R. Banse; and his stepfather, William P. Turner. He is survived by his wife, Jean Jobes Johnson of Seaford; four sons, Allan M. Johnson, Jr. (Linda), William R. Johnson, Robert L. Johnson, and Kevin M. Johnson, all of Seaford; a daughter, Suzan J. Johnson Reilly of Millsboro; a nephew, Charles Johnson (Tham) of Dallas, Texas; a niece, Sallie Maynard of Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Services will be 12 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Seaford Presbyterian Church, 701 Bridgeville Hwy., Seaford. Reverend Laurie Hiller will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Allan's memory to Seaford Elks Lodge, PO Box 476, Seaford, DE 19973; Nanticoke River Yacht Club, PO Box 162, Seaford, DE 19973; or Seaford Presbyterian Church, 701 Bridgeville Hwy, Seaford, DE 19973. Arrangements are in the care of Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Seaford.
