SEAFORD - Alice "Jeanette" Hammond Lineweaver passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side, on June 18, 2018, from a long courageous battle from lymphoma cancer, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
She attended Christ Lutheran Church in Seaford. She was an active member of LWML group, a chair person for Lay Ministry, until her illness would not allow her to continue. She loved serving her chuch, helping with the dinners and playing "Bunko".
She retired from the Seaford School District where she worked for many years in the cafeteria as a cashier. Many times she paid for kids' lunches when they would forget their money.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She loved to go shopping and spending time with her friend, Eunice Vickers, and her sister Del.
In addition to her parents, Ira and Helen Hammond, she was preceded in death by her youngest son, Douglas "Doug" Lineweaver; and a brother, Edward Leroy "Roy" Hammond.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Emmitt Lineweaver; a son, Dennis Lineweaver (Lynn) of Georgetown; her daughter, Teresa Lord (Brian) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Kendra Bartocci (Chris), Jenna Cropper (Keith), Jared Lineweaver (Dawn), Coty Lineweaver (Danielle); and great-grandchildren, Kannon Cropper, Riley, Griffin, and Hunter Lineweaver, Gianni and Lucca Bartocci; a sister, Delena "Del" Callaway; and a niece, Patricia "Faye" Passwaters. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
