Alice Elizabeth Watson, 91
FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Alice Elizabeth Watson of Federalsburg died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, in William Hill Manor, Easton. She was 91.
Mrs. Watson was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Milford, Del., daughter of the late Harry G. and Elizabeth Hobbs Jester.
She worked several years in the cafeteria at the E.I. DuPont Co. nylon plant in Seaford, Del. She also worked for Excelsior Pearl Works and, for a time, owned and operated Family Grocery and worked in the cafeteria at Federalsburg Elementary School.
Mrs. Watson joined Christ United Methodist Church more than 60 years ago and was a member of the Philathea Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Atwood Watson Oct. 15, 1990; five brothers, Harry Jester, Arthur Jester, George Jester, Carl Jester and Charles Jester; and two sisters, Hattie Whaley and Annie Betts.
She is survived by a son, Carl A. Watson of Federalsburg; a daughter, Carolyn A. Watson Sturgis of Portsmouth, Va.; seven grandchildren, Randall L. Watson of Baltimore, Alison R. Cook and her husband, Ralph Jr. of Seaford, Carla R. Neugroshell and her husband, Jeffrey of Cambridge, Sheila Watson of Hurlock, David A. Sturgis of Panama City, Fla., Kenneth A. Sturgis and his wife, Melissa of Hampton, Va., Linda A Sturgis of Washington, D.C.; six great-grandchildren, Daniel Cook and his wife, Erinn of Ocean Pines, Jason Cook of Bethany Beach, Del., Erin Ruark and her husband, Jonathan of Herndon, Va., Cari Christopher of Staten Island, N.Y., Ashby M. Sturgis and Britt W. Sturgis, both of Hampton; a sister, Ida Mae Fansler of Ocean City, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 11 to noon Thursday in Frampton Funeral Home, P.A., Federalsburg.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday in the funeral home. The Revs. Dale Evans and Dan Walker will officiate.
Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg.
