CAMDEN - Alice Brunelle Soares, of Camden, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, after a brief battle with cancer. She was 75. Mrs. Soares was born on May 24, 1933, in New Bedford, Mass. She was the daughter of the late William and Adrienne Brunelle of New Bedford. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader and bingo player; she especially enjoyed wintering in Florida with her family. Mrs. Soares was a military wife who accompanied her husband to various Air Force bases throughout the country. Their last tour of duty was at Dover Air Force Base. They made Camden their permanent home when Carlton retired, and have lived there for 37 years. She was a devoted Catholic who attended both the DAFB chapel as well as Holy Cross Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Carlton L. Soares of Camden; her daughters, Caryn Eisenberg of Weston, Fla., Lynne Brownwell of Magnolia; son, Carlton Soares Jr. of Milford; son-in-law, Terry Eisenberg; daughter-in-law, Debbie Soares; and seven grandchildren, Neal, Lauren, Sean, Eric, Lindsey, Jessica, and Corey. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday in Carpenter Memorial Chapel, DAFB, (Housing Side), Dover. Following the mass and a light luncheon, burial will be 2 p.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720-1633. Letters of condolences may be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
