Alexander Rey Stuart, 25 GEORGETOWN - Alexander Rey Stuart was born Dec. 28, 1984, to Michael G. Stuart and Victoria L. (Stuart) Bolden in Salisbury, Md. He departed this life on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. He was 25 years old. Alex was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Butler Stuart (1995), and Helen Jane (Hendricks) Stuart (2005). Alex received his education in the Seaford School District. While there he played football, and participated in track and field and JROTC. He graduated in 2002. After graduation, Alex attended Delaware Technical and Community College where he studied Diesel Mechanics. At the time of his death, he resided in Fruitland, Maryland with his fiancé and their daughters. Alex was employed at the Pepsi Cola Company in Salisbury, Md. Alex truly loved his family. His mother, father and brother often took trips together, went fishing and crabbing together or just found something to do together. Alex and his brother Michael had a very strong and loving relationship. Very rarely did you see one without the other. One of Michael's fondest memories of his brother was a particular trip the family took to the mountains of West Virginia at Christmas time. It was there that Alex learned to ski and snow tube with his father. Alex had a special love for his Grandfather James. He said that his pop-pop was "the coolest old man he had ever known" and that just watching his grandfather build and fix things made him want to do the same thing. He wanted a job where he could work with his hands like his pop-pop. He also had a special love for his Grandmother Helen or Mom-Mom as he affectionately called her. He once said that no matter what he did, he would always take care of his Mom-Mom, and he resided with her in Georgetown until her death. Alex and his aunt Cathy Stuart whom he called "Tita" had a very close relationship. She was much like a second mother to him and he was her heart. She often told people that she has 3 sons and whenever she talked about Alex, she would refer to him as "Her Baby." Everyone that had the chance to know Alex was blessed by his smile. He was a fun loving and friendly person who knew no strangers. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Alex was credited with saving his co-worker's life when his co-worker fell ill while driving the work bus. He had a group of lifelong friends that he called his brothers. When you saw one, the others weren't far behind. They were there for each other throughout their lives. On the day of his death, his "brothers" were with him. Alex's laughter and smile will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted parents, Michael G. Stuart of Georgetown and Victoria L. Bolden of Laurel; his brother, Michael D. Stuart of Georgetown; his maternal grandmother, Rosario Lopez; his aunt, Marisa Negron and her children Melissa and Josh of Virginia Beach, Va.; his aunt, Cathy L Stuart and her son Miles Teagle of Georgetown; his fiancé, Rodnica D. Cannon and their daughters, Shaunae' Handy, Sani Cannon, and Alexis V. Stuart, all of Fruitland, Md.
