Albert W. Matthews

GEORGETOWN - Albert W. Matthews, 80, of Georgetown, died Jan. 2, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Born in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Latchett and Florence Stevens Matthews. Mr. Matthews had worked as a grounds keeper for most of his adult life as he enjoyed gardening. In his quieter moments he could be found working on a puzzle. He also enjoyed painting, stock car racing, and music. Mr. Matthews also had a special fondness for animals. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his twin brother, Raymond Matthews, of Lewes; along with two special friends and caregivers, Karen Melson Parker and Juliann Melson Taylor, both of Georgetown. Friends attended a 11:30 a.m. Graveside Committal Service on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at the People's Cemetery in Lewes. Donations in his memory may be made to Easter Seals, 22317 S. DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19934. Life's End Services are by Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director, Inc, Dover. Condolences may be sent and Guest Book signed via www.ambruso.com.
