NEWARK - Albert T. Sammons, of Newark, passed away at the Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark, on Sunday, April 20, 2008. He was 71.
Born in Seaford, he was the son of the late Albert and Reba Louise (Jackson) Sammons.
Mr. Sammons owned and operated Arrow Sanitary Service, Bear.
In his leisure time he enjoyed shopping and buying collectibles, especially baseball cards. Flea markets were his avenues to odd and different collectibles.
Mr. Sammons leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 48 years, Frances M. (Krakowski) Sammons; son, Albert T. Sammons Jr. and his wife Monica of Newark; siblings, Jude Jackson and Peter Street; grandchildren Wesley, Taylor, Damian, Carl and Rachael; great-grandchild, Alijah; and close friends and other relatives, Del and Jane Jackson, Rob and Carol Nickle, Joe and Phyllis Miller, Jim and Debbie Pratt and Ginny Parker.
Friends are invited to join the family in a Life Celebration at noon Thursday in the Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark, where visitation will be two hours prior.
Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th St., Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
