SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Albert T. McAllister, age 89, of San Francisco, died May 18, 2009, in California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco. Born Dec. 29, 1919, in Seaford, Del., the son of the late Blanche Jester and James T. McAllister, he was a 1936 graduate of Seaford High School and a 1937 graduate of Banks Business College, Philadelphia. After living in New York City for 3 years, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He then lived in Los Angeles, Carmel and San Francisco, before moving to Europe for 2 years, living in Paris, Cannes, Barcelona and Rome. He studied at the Sorbonne University in Paris on the GI Bill. In 1952 he returned to live in San Francisco permenantly. He traveled worldwide extensively as a lifetime goal. He is survived by a nephew, Donald Marvel and wife Jeannie of Greenwood, Del.; and a niece, Patricia Correll of Bridgeville, Del. and their offspring. Burial will be private. Arrangements by Watson-Yates Funeral Home.
