Albert Silbereisen Sr.

HARRINGTON - Albert "Jake" Silbereisen Sr., of Harrington, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Albert was born Sept. 29, 1939 in Andrewsville, the son of Henry and Dorothy Silbereisen. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Albert was a service technician for Sears, retiring after 33 years. He coached Harrington Little League for ten years and served as president for a year. He enjoyed quail and rabbit hunting with his dogs that he trained. Albert was a self fixer upper around the house, he loved to listen to country and blue grass music, and enjoyed gardening. Albert was survived by his wife Susie Watkins Silbereisen of whom he was happily married to for 47 years; a son, Albert Silbereisen Jr. and his significant other, Denise of Milford; two daughters, Linda Webb and her husband Chris of Milford, and Diane Silbereisen of New Castle; one granddaughter Ashley; two step granddaughters, Whitney and Jessica; two brothers, Robert Silbereisen of Houston and Garry Silbereisen of Milford; one sister, Dorothy Melvin of Lincoln. Viewing will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market St, Greenwood, DE 19950. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contribution to the Special Olympics Delaware, 619 S. College Ave, Newark, DE. 19716 or www.sode.org/support/donate.
