He was born on Dec. 31, 1943 in Easton, Md., the son of the late Arthur B. and M. Elizabeth DeFord Armstrong.

Concurrent with his career as an Auto Mechanic, Larry served for many years in the Delaware Army National Guard and farmed as a lifelong passion by wheel and hoof. This passion was tempered only by his love of family and a calling to help others.
He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Armstrong (nee McQuail); five children, Kimberly J. Armstrong and her fiancée Matthew S. Tower, Anna M. Armstrong and her fiancée James L. Glancey, A. Larry Armstrong, Jr. and his wife Kathleen M. Armstrong (nee Cummins), Helen L. Furber and her husband James R. Furber, Sr., and John A. Armstrong and his wife Jessica R.
