MAGNOLIA - Alan L. Klingensmith of Magnolia died Friday, October 31, 2014 in Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. He was 58. He was born in New Castle, Pa., October 26, 1956, to the late William and Irma Crawford Klingensmith. Alan served in the US Air Force for 21 years, retiring in 2001 as a Master Sergeant. He then went to work for the DAFB Aeroport as a shift manager. He was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan, and enjoyed sports in general. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Klingensmith; and sister, Carol Boyd. Alan is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mindy; son, Matthew; and daughter, Kristel, both of Magnolia; brother, Harold Klingensmith; and sisters, Judy Wallace, Mary Lou Conley, and Deborah Sayfoot. Funeral service and interment with military honors will be 10 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
