DOVER - Alan C. Peters passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at home. Mr. Peters was born May 21, 1943 in Wilmington, Del. to the late Albert Peters and Lillian Fisher Peters. He worked as a Senior Underwriter for Nationwide Insurance in Annapolis, Maryland and then Dover retiring after 38 years. Mr. Peters loved sports and coached several sports in Maryland. He enjoyed music and played the ukele and harmonica. Mr. Peters was also a member of the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all. Mr. Peters is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jean Baumgart Peters of Dover; sons, Michael Peters and his wife Andrea of Annapolis, Md., and Bradley Peters and his wife, Jennifer of Ellicott City, Md; brother, Donald Peters and his wife, Ellen of S.C.; grandchildren, Brandon and Lauren Peters, Emily and Johnathan Peters; sister-in-law, Joan Davis and her husband Wayne of Dover. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior.
