REHOBOTH BEACH - Ailua M. (Scanlan) Schwartz of Rehoboth Beach died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, in her home. She was
Mrs. Schwartz was born June 9, 1965, in Honolulu, daughter of Lamala (Saaga) Scanlan of Rehoboth Beach and the late Jerry Scanlan.
She moved to the beach seven years ago from Reno, Nev.
She was employed as the general manager at Americ Inn, Rehoboth Beach prior to her illness.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7447 Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 5 Ladies Auxiliary, both of Rehoboth Beach.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother Leonard Scanlan.
She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony "Tony" R. Schwartz; her mother, Lamala (Saaga) Scanlan of Rehoboth Beach; her sister, Mavis Palikiko of Honolulu; two brothers, Jerry L. Scanlan of Rehoboth Beach and Tafu Scanlan of Honolulu; and many nieces and nephews in Hawaii.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday in Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Honolulu.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to VFW Post 7447 Ladies Auxiliary, C/O Quartermaster, State Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
