Agnes M. Jopp

Agnes M. Jopp, 78

WYOMING - Agnes M. Jopp of Wyoming died Thursday Aug. 9, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 78.

Ms. Jopp was born May 9, 1929, in Dover, to Edith Jones Schmick and the late George Schmick.

She retired from Playtex in 1996 after 47 years.

Ms. Jopp was a member of the Modern Maturity Center, Dover, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Blood Bank.

She attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in Dover.

Ms. Jopp was a loving mother and best friend.

She enjoyed gardening.

Ms. Jopp was preceded in death by her soul mate, Bill White, in 2001.

She is survived by her mother, Edith Hollinger of Wyoming; her two sons, Jimmy Jopp and his wife, Evelyn of Harrington and William Jopp of Wyoming; her daughter, Eydie Meluney and her husband, Bill of Camden; her cousin, Marie Edge of Frederica; four grandchildren, Michelle Karnard of Harrington, Michael Jopp of Harrington, Billy Jopp of Wyoming and Kelly Bennett of Smyrna; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the St. Jude Children"s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
