Born in Newark, N.J., on May 24, 1919, Mr. Katcher was the son of the late Jacob Katcher and Molly Rubin Katcher. He relocated to Delaware where he opened Red's Pizza Palace and, prior to retirement, for years owned and operated Russo's Italian Restaurant, formerly located on Bay Road near Dover Air Force Base. Mr. Katcher's favorite things to do were watching boxing, reading, going to the beach, cooking family Italian dishes, and spending time with his grandchildren listening and sharing his wealth of wisdom. He was known as "Pappy" to his grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
